Eco Extreme Speaker

Pick your color: black, yellow, blue, green, or pink. This sturdy waterproof speaker case will serve you well in wet circumstances. Personally, I use my in the hot tub, but it would be great for fishing, boating, skiing or wherever there is the possibility of water damage to a digital device such as an MP3 player, iPhone, iPad, Android or other phone with audio output. Two hefty latches with button locks on the right side secure a gasket seal tighter than a coffin.

Archos 32 Internet Tablet

I must say that I was surprised when I received this "tablet" for review. Somehow I was expecting a 7 to 10 inch screen, but instead, this unit is about the size of an iPod touch. In fact, that's the best way to describe it. It's an Android iPod touch. It's a bit thicker than an iPod with a smaller touch screen at 3.2 inches with a 400 x 240 resolution and 18 bit color depth. I found the on screen keyboard extremely difficult to use because the screen and keys are so small. It measures approximately 2 1/8 x 4 1/8 x 1/4 inches and weighs a mere 2 1/2 ounces.

Stocking Stuffer: Opena

How about a beer with your iPhone? Now here is a gift for the guy who has everything. The Opena is basically a protective skin for the iPhone 4 with a bottle cap opener that slides out. That's about all there is to it. All you have to do it click your iPhone into it, and you are in business. When you need to open a bottle, there is a metal slider in the back of the unit with a hole in it. Put your finger in the hole and slide upward. Out pops the opener. If you want to use it with your iPod, I suppose you could.

Stocking Stuffers: Tankbots

They come in a colorful array of orange, green, blue, and black. They are more fun than a barrel of monkeys, and they are aptly named Tankbots. They sort of look like little Smart Cars on tractor treads.

Stocking Stuffer: Verbatim Ultra-Slim Keyboard

The Verbatim Ultra-Slim keyboard really is slim. It measures just over 1/8" think by 8 3/4 x 4/3/4 and weighs about as much as a hummingbird beak. So, it's compact and easy to carry on the road, yet it's a full-size Qwerty board with lots of special key features. It makes the perfect stock stuffer for the dedicated road warrior or for at home/office use to increase productivity. One drawback for tablet and smartphone users is the lack of a decent input device when on-screen keyboards are not adequate for serious inputting. Here is the perfect solution.

HP TouchPad Review
The HP TouchPad tablet might be remembered--if remembered at all--in the annals of gadget ignominy. Just another iPad contender that hardly made it to the ring, before HP decided to pull the plug. I won't be the first or last to say that it's a shame. The product has some rough edges to be sure, but serious potential as well. I played several decent apps on it this week that I felt deserved (along with the device itself) at least a minor review. TouchPad stacks up to the beloved iPad actually pretty well...
