A "powerful" charging solution: The VersaCharger PRO

Lately, I've become absolutely intrigued by mobile power solutions. One novel type of mobile power solution is the 3-in-1 charging system. These systems allow you to recharge your Windows Mobile device at home, in your automobile and while traveling. The team at Boxwave dropped me an E-mail to inform me of their VersaCharger PRO, an improved version of their 3-in-1 charging system.

The VersaCharger PRO has a sleek design and supports AC (wall outlet) and DC (cigarette lighter adapter) recharging options.

The VersaCharger PRO allows you to leave all of your power adapters at home, and replaces them with one unit. This charging system, using different connection cables, allows you to charge you mobile device, your MP3 player and even your portable gaming device (Nintendo GameBoy or Nintendo DS). Simply plug in the miniSync cable (available separately) and you’re ready to recharge.

The “PRO†designation means that the VersaCharger can reportedly supply up to one amp of power to “higher demand†devices, such as the Dell Axim X50 and X51, as well as newer iPod MP3 players. The unit also has a built-in voltage regulator so that you can use it in any country with 100-240 volts AC power, without the need for an extra, bulky adapter. And finally, the hardware has been redesigned so that charging your device using the AC plug will not prevent other outlets from being used.

The VersaCharger PRO has been redesigned to permit access to other wall outlets as you recharge your device.

The VersaCharger PRO is available for $25.95 (or $35.20 with an optional airplane adapter cable. -Some airlines now offer cigarette plug adapters, so this cable may not be necessary). The miniSync cables are approximately $20 each, depending on which devices you own. For more information, visit the VersaCharge PRO and miniSync product pages.
