View local TV and recorded content on your Pocket PC
Sling Media introduced the Slingbox in 2005 and it has been a great success for them. The Slingbox is a small device that sits within your audio/video equipment at home that allows you to control your television, your cable or satellite tuner, and your DVR all from your PC. The beauty of it is you can view your local stations and DVR content from anywhere in the world! As long as you can get to the Internet, you can view it!
Today SlingMedia announced the public beta of the SlingPlayer Mobile. The SlingPlayer Mobile allows you to use your Windows Mobile device (2003 or 5.0 Pocket PC) to do everything the SlingPlayer for your PC does - only in a truly mobile format! Further, there is no programming of the client required. When you synchronize your device with your PC with ActiveSync, all of the Slingbox information is copied to your device. Literally, you can be watching television from your Windows Mobile device within minutes.
